During last night’s episode of Wayward Pines, Fox aired the first in what we want to believe (eh? Ehhh?) is the first of many 15-second teasers for its upcoming X-Files event series/reboot/cultural event. Considering the internet‘s interest in the project is already at “frame-by-frame analysis of three-second clip” levels, this is a certified Big Deal for X-Files fanatics. We’ll leave the 10,000-word analyses to the experts, but after viewing the preview The A.V. Club is pleased to confirm that Mulder and Scully are still snooping around in the dark, the government’s still injecting people with painful-looking microchip things (or is it?!), and Fox seems to have spared no expense on the fog budget. All good signs.
