Fox Sports exec Jamie Horowitz fired over sexual harassment allegations
After the very public expulsions of Roger Ailes and Bill O’Reilly at Fox News, it looks like the entire 20th Century Fox organization is on high-alert for any suggestion of wrongdoing. Unsurprisingly, given how deeply rotten Fox News seems to be, a probe within Fox Sports has also uncovered multiple sexual harassment allegations, and now an executive seems to have been fired because of them. This comes from The Los Angeles Times, which reports that Fox Sports just fired Jamie Horowitz, its “controversial” head of sports programming, and unnamed sources have said that the network has interviewed several women—”including prominent on-air personalities”—about their treatment at Fox Sports.
The network hasn’t specifically said why it fired Horowitz, but in an email to staff, Fox Sports President Eric Shanks said the following:
Everyone at Fox Sports, no matter what role we play, or what business, function, or show we contribute to…should act with respect and adhere to professional conduct at all times…These values are non-negotiable.
Horowitz has only been with Fox Sports since 2015, but before that he had a “short and rocky” time on NBC’s Today. He was also fired from that job after only a few months. In a statement, Horowitz’s lawyer said that the way his client has been treated is “appalling” and that there was no indication before this of any supposed “inability to adhere to professional conduct.”
