Introducing Endless Mode: A New Games & Anime Site from Paste

We might gently mock Netflix’s currently running Tudum event, with its nigh-endless banter, awkward teleprompter comedy, and musical bits, but we can’t deny that the streamer is throwing a lot of big name people at its Kia Forum stage. Take the lead-up to the reveal of the teaser for Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein, which not only had Del Toro talking passionately about his love of monsters, but also stars Mia Goth and Oscar Isaac (to do awkward teleprompter comedy).

Which is, predictably, absolutely gorgeous, filled with vibrant colors and incredibly detailed sets. (Also, one frozen horse, which is somehow among the most haunting visuals in the entire thing.) Isaac is front and center as Victor Frankenstein, while the trailer plays much more coy with shots of Jacob Elordi as the monster. (We get no glimpses of Christoph Waltz, as far as we can tell.) This is a story we all already know—Del Toro looks to be playing things very true to the novel, with much of the latter action taking place in the frozen north. So it’s all going to come down to how he tells it, with every indication that, if nothing else, the movie will be a visual feast.

Frankenstein is set to release on Netflix this November.
