Fred Dukes
Who he is: Fred Dukes, a.k.a. Blob
His power: Superstrength and invulnerability.
His story: Fred Dukes fights with Col. William Stryker’s Team X in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but he doesn’t do too well when the fighting stops and the mutant strike force disbands. He puts on hundreds of pounds because of an eating disorder and becomes extremely sensitive about people calling him “Blob.” Dukes tries to get back into shape with boxer training at John Wraith’s gym, which is where Wolverine approaches him in hopes of getting information about Stryker’s newest plot. A fight breaks out when Dukes mishears Wolverine’s “bub” as “blob,” and while Dukes has the size advantage, he’s no match for Wolverine’s adamantium-covered skeleton. Dukes eventually gives up that Stryker and Victor Creed are working together, and directs Wolverine to the Cajun street hustler Gambit for further details. Dukes ultimately meets the fate that befalls many informants, and it’s heavily implied that Victor Creed kills him after he reveals what he knows. Fred Dukes also has a cameo appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse, marking his first appearance in the new timeline created by X-Men: Days Of Future Past.
Played by: Kevin Durand in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Giant Gustav Claude Ouimet in X-Men: Apocalypse
Currently, Fred Dukes is: Probably still in Berlin, where he was last seen losing to Angel in a mutant fight club.
Where will we see him next? There are no plans for Fred Dukes to appear in any future X-films, but being reintroduced in the new continuity increases the likelihood of him showing up somewhere in the future.
