FX orders another season of The League since we haven't all been stricken with the plague yet
Just hours before tonight's two-episode finale, FX has issued a fifth-season renewal for The League, thereby completely spoiling the fact that tonight will not conclude with every character in the gloriously crude, loosely fantasy football-based comedy dying simultaneously of the bubonic plague. For one thing, the bubonic plague was mostly wiped out in the 18th century, save for the occasional stupid Chinese herdsman who eats any old dead marmot he finds, but for another, the show has continued to score solid ratings and great guest-star turns, while growing into one of the more consistently crazy shows on TV. In fact, FX vice president Nick Grad said in a press release that he and everyone at the network "hope to have it on our schedule for many more years to come," provided we don't all die of bubonic plague.
