Generally, when a movie studio is trying to promote an upcoming film, it doesn’t make a big show of how much fun everybody had while making the movie. They’ll usually release what’s called a “trailer,” which is basically a series of clips from the movie without any context. Pitch Perfect 3, on the other hand, is a different beast. Apparently, everybody really did have a ton of fun making it, so you can’t capture the Pitch Perfect 3 experience in a two-minute montage of funny moments and good tunes. Instead of a normal trailer, then, Pitch Perfect 3 has received a teaser teaser that features no actual footage from the movie but does have several minutes of Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, John Lithgow, and every other aca-person who worked on this movie having a blast and posting funny pics on Instagram.
A real trailer is presumably coming at some point in the future, and Pitch Perfect 3 will be in theaters in December.
