Gleefully violent new trailer for John Wick: Chapter 3 takes a nice trip to the knife store
The first trailer for John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum featured our favorite dog-loving assassin on the ropes and running from the whole killer community, making him appear so desperate to escape that he actually killed a guy with a book. This new trailer teases that Wick might not be as desperate as he seemed, with Ian McShane seemingly breaking his own rules to help John Wick get some guns, but the most exciting thing here is that Wick, as usual, doesn’t really need guns to kill the people who intend to do him harm—especially when he happens to be facing off against a team of killers inside what is either New York’s most well-stocked knife store or some kind of Museum Of Sharp Objects.
These movies aren’t for everybody, but surely every fan of well-choreographed action can get on board with Wick tossing knife after knife after knife into some poor guy’s chest, right? Not to mention the great gag where Wick and another guy anxiously look over the shoulders to see what kind of weapons are in reach. Jason Mantzoukas’ Tick-Tock Man still hasn’t shown up, but Anjelica Huston questioning Wick about going to all of this effort over “a puppy” is a fine consolation prize.
John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum will be in theaters on May 17.
