Years later, here's the first teaser of Aziz Ansari's directorial debut Good Fortune

The film follows “Gabriel (Keanu Reeves), a well-meaning but inept angel who meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Ansari) and a wealthy venture capitalist (Seth Rogen).” In the Good Fortune teaser, Gabriel asks his boss (fellow Canadian legend Sandra Oh) for “more meaningful duties.” Unfortunately, Gabriel isn’t particularly good at being a Guardian Angel. He is, however, charming and good looking, as evidenced by Sherry Cola’s declaration that she wants to sit on his face. 

While we may never see Ansari’s first first movie Being Mortal, that film’s stars Keke Palmer and Seth Rogen are still present for his second first movie. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the comedian recalled the Being Mortal shutdown: “There was the day it was in the news, and so everybody was sending me messages, ‘Oh my God, Aziz, I’m so sorry,’ And I was like, ‘I don’t want to be sitting here responding to these messages and being depressed.’ So I had a decent draft of Good Fortune, and I called Seth and I said, ‘Hey, this is a bad day for me, and I know you’re free because you were supposed to work today. I have the script. I want you to read it. Tell me if you want to do it.'” Two hours later, Rogen was on board for Good Fortune: “It’s the fastest any director has ever sent anyone a script and then heard back from them,”  Ansari joked. Good Fortune premieres in theaters October 17.
