EDGLRD, Harmony Korine’s design collective, announced its first video game today, Tamashika, and the game’s first trailer is as psychedelic, nauseating, and violent as one might expect. The game is an arcade-style first-person shooter with “pure sensory experience” on the brain, and it’s all over the trailer. This first teaser shows off its various forms of hand-drawn animation, providing a fast-paced, trippy, and potentially dizzying way to gun down weird green blobs.

Wipeout set the standard for immersion,” Korine said in a statement. “GTA redefined player freedom. Tamashika pushes the next wave of sensory experiences. Our games are built to be instinctive—fast, dynamic, and engaging.”

Selling the game on sensory experience over story, EDGLRD describes the game:

“Built with speed, precision, and fluid motion at its core, Tamashika places players in a procedurally generated labyrinth, armed with a semi-automatic pistol, a tanto blade, and abilities like parrying, teleportation, and astral projection. It’s less of a traditional game and more of an audiovisual trip—fusing hand-drawn animations, precision sound design, and an unpredictable, rhythmic flow state.”

Korine founded EDGLRD in 2023, using the imprint to release his film Aggro Dr1ft, which tested audiences’ retinas with its unrelenting heat vision aesthetic. His latest, Baby Invasion, premiered at the Venice Film Festival last summer.

The game will debut at Day of the Devs and the Game Developers Conference this March and is expected to hit Steam this summer.
