Bummer news for folks who’ve spent their whole gaming lives buying only PlayStations: Hideo Kojima’s top-secret “action-espionage” project, Physint, will be published by Xbox rather than by Sony Interactive Entertainment, according to a joint announcement from Xbox and the legendary game developer. “Xbox understands and shares our bold creative vision,” Kojima Productions said in its release. “As we move forward with the development of Physint, we remain committed to redefining the action-espionage genre for players around the world.” Kojima took to X to clarify that this new partnership was precipitated by Sony’s decision to “suddenly” cancel Physint, and not because Microsoft was secretly sending him flirty DMs or liking photos on his socials from, like, three years ago, or something.
