McShane—who utterly failed to give a fuck last year, when he inadvertently spoiled a biggish plot detail from his one-episode drop-in on the HBO show—has doubled down on his “tits and dragons” dismissiveness, telling fans angry at him to “get a fucking life.” McShane gave his tough love advice in a recent interview with Empire magazine (and quoted by Entertainment Weekly), in which he acted exactly the way you’d want Al Swearengen to act if someone complained to him about “spoilers” while he was busy fucking up the hoopleheads on Deadwood. “Can you believe it?” the American Gods actor asked. “‘Oh, you’re giving it away.’ Firstly, you love it and secondly, you’ll have forgotten by the time it comes out. And what am I giving away? A character beloved by everybody returns. Get a fucking life. The show is huge but some fans seem to identify with it [too closely]. You want to say, ‘Have you thought about your lifestyle? Maybe you should get out a little more.’”
