IFC has renewed Maron—which works for Marc Maron, because he still has cats and a podcast and relationships he finds absolutely terrifying, so he’s good for a few more seasons. Like the second season, the third season of Maron’s self-deprecating autobiographical comedy will consist of 13 episodes, each containing the opportunity for a famous comedian to tell Maron he or she hates him to his face. IFC president Jennifer Caserta is more forgiving, quipping, “Usually Marc has a hard time maintaining long-term relationships, but luckily not with us…He’s committed to bringing his wry humor and refreshing perspective back to IFC for a third season.” At least until he freaks out and says something he doesn’t really mean and has to suck it up and apologize.
