Jacob’s Ladder remake slips into the hell dimension, gets delayed

It’s hard to discern fiction from reality when you’re beset with trauma-induced hallucinations, but allow us to assure you that, yes, your visions of a Jacob’s Ladder remake are real. The revamp of Adrian Lyne’s trippy 1990 spooker was first announced way back in 2013 and was slated to arrive next month, but Bloody Disgusting now reports that it’s been delayed yet again, with no new release date set as of now. That’s kind of insane since it’s been test-screening since 2016.

Lyne’s Jacob’s Ladder stars Tim Robbins as a war veteran who, after being afflicted with bizarre, nightmarish hallucinations, finds himself swept up in an eerie conspiracy. The remake, as we previously reported, has been described as “a modern-day paranoid action thriller about two brothers,” and will star Barbershop’s Michael Ealy, as well as Guy Burnet, Karla Souza, and Nicole Beharie. Director David M. Rosenthal, who’s likely dealing with some PTSD of his own from this development cycle, helmed last year’s Netflix original How It Ends.
