Jason Bateman doesn’t get too many chances to be a stone-cold, serious dude in his acting roles, so Netflix’s Ozark specifically appears to be an attempt to give him a shot at a Breaking Bad-style turn. Based on this trailer for the new series, it looks like Bateman is involved in some dark shit that requires him to hide a bunch of money in his walls and then hide his entire family. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that will be very easy to pull off, at least going by the guy with a gun, the use of Kanye West’s “Wolves,” the car crash, the muted colors, and the serious expressions on everyone’s faces.
Ozark also stars Laura Linney, Sofia Hublitz, and Skylar Gaertner. It’ll premiere on Netflix in July.
