Karoline Leavitt to spend less time with family as Fox News contributor

The former White House Press Secretary stepped back from D.C. in August to spend more time with her family.

Karoline Leavitt, who, up until August, was one of the biggest mouthpieces for the second Trump administration before stepping down as press secretary to spend more time with her family, has a new gig. Like White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany before her, Leavitt is taking her spin skills to Fox News now that her time on Pennsylvania Avenue has ended. Per Variety, she is scheduled to start her new gig at the beginning of November. Said Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott in a press statement, “Karoline’s firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape.”

Leavitt, who is 29, is the youngest person ever appointed to be White House Press Secretary. She also oversaw perhaps the most hostile briefing room in modern history, which repeatedly railed against the mainstream media for their less-than-sycophantic coverage of the President. (The revoking of press credentials for CNN and MS NOW happened after Leavitt’s departure.) Fox News wasn’t totally immune from the President’s wrath, as The New York Times points out, though it’s obviously held in a better light by the administration than more centrist or liberal fare like CNN or MS NOW.

Press secretaries on both sides of the aisle have found work in cable news after their time in the White House. Most recently, former Joe Biden press secretary Jen Psaki landed her own show at MS NOW, while Jay Carney and Dana Perino of the Obama and Bush administrations, respectively, have both gone on to work in TV.
