Keegan-Michael Key joins Oscar Isaac in off-Broadway Hamlet production

Keegan-Michael Key seems like he’s in everything these days, but unlike a lot of actors who suddenly start popping up in a ton of different roles across movies and TV, Key is taking his ubiquity in a fun, new direction. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he has signed on to join Sam Gold’s off-Broadway production of Hamlet alongside Oscar Isaac. Key will Horatio alongside Isaac’s Hamlet, with people who weren’t in Star Wars or on Key & Peele filling out the rest of the cast. As for Sam Gold, he previously put on a production of Othello with Daniel Craig and David Oyelowo, so this “getting big-name celebrities to do Shakespeare” thing isn’t new for him.

This production of Hamlet is happening at The Public Theater in New York, with previews starting on June 20 and the real opening on July 13.
