Kevin Feige teases two LGBTQ characters for the MCU

In a 2015 interview with Collider, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige suggested we’d see the first LGBTQ character in the big-screen Marvel Cinematic Universe in year 2025 or so (the TV shows are years ahead of the game). Now, three years, one deleted Thor: Ragnarok scene, and a Deadpool 2 volley later, Feige seems to be teasing more than one out and queer character.

When asked by The Playlist for an update, Feige simply said “yes” a LGBTQ character will feature in an upcoming MCU movie, and that it was “both” a new character and a returning one: “Both ones you’ve seen and ones you haven’t seen.” What the hell does this mean, exactly? Well, the prevailing theory is that Tessa Thompson (and a whole lotta fans) will get her wish and we’ll see more of the bisexual Valkyrie’s love life in Avengers 4 (assuming she wasn’t dusted, of course). Additionally, we’ll meet a different queer character in any one of the upcoming MCU movies, be it Spider-Man: Far From Home, Captain Marvel, or even Ant-Man And The Wasp, we suppose. We just hope Marvel doesn’t follow in its corporate brethren’s footsteps with that “exclusively gay moment” bullshit.
