Kid Rock finds new music festival to scare people away from

“When I put together Patriots Day Freedom Fest, I put it together with the game plan and the idea that I could pay for it with VIP sales of $1,000 from these 100 people that I interact with on a regular basis,” Deters said. “I want to tell you something: Rich people, as a whole, suck.[…] Now I’m a rich person. I live in one hell of a house. I don’t suck, because I know that money isn’t what freakin’ matters the most. It’s the fight, it’s the cause, it’s helping people. That ain’t the way rich people think. Rich people only want to make more money.”

Deters claims the event’s failure was not due to a lack of interest, believing 5,000 to 15,000 normal folks were excited to attend the Festival because it’s free. However, he planned for those VIP tickets to recoup his investment. Amid talking up his health regimen (he takes a lot of vitamins), threatening his personal enemies with lawsuits, and complaining about the woke liberal media, internet commenters, and his younger brother, whose sexuality Deters has a great number of issues (yeah, a lot is going on here), he fails to mention that Kid Rock’s name only moved six VIP tickets. Still, “it saved me a pretty large tab that I didn’t want to pick up,” he concedes. 

Kid Rock’s name has been associated with other failed music festivals this year, chief among them Rock’s own “Rock The Country” touring festival, which he canceled after his opening acts went the way of Ed Sheeran’s. Lest we forget, he also headlined Turning Point USA’s Super Bowl Halftime Show counterprogrammer, the All-American Halftime Show. Rock’s stock dropped even further after he was snubbed from Trump’s disastrous Great American State Fair, which also faced an uphill battle with attendance even without Kid Rock. To be fair, though, Deters says Kid Rock was really cool about the cancellation. He must be used to it by now.
