Kit Harington still hasn't given up on his shelved Jon Snow spinoff

If you blocked out the memory of the GOT ending, here’s a refresher: Jon killed his aunt and love interest, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), then he was exiled and last seen traveling beyond the Wall for a new life. It seemed like an appropriate ending for a character who never wanted the Iron Throne, but in 2022, three years after the show’s end, The Hollywood Reporter reported that a Jon-centric spinoff was in the works, with Harington set to return. 

George R. R. Martin confirmed the news on his blog and revealed the show’s working title, SNOW. Two years later, Harington told Screen Rant that the show was no longer in active development because they “couldn’t find the right story to tell.”

Now, Harington tells Horowitz that he felt that it wasn’t the right time for the project. “I think I was right because I’ve gone and done all these other things and now I’m more comfortable with that character and that world again, in where it sits in my life,” he said. It’s no surprise that Harington would want to extend the life of a character that’s come to define his career. But with A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms renewed for season two, House Of The Dragon ending with season four, and a film in development called Aegon’s Conquest, it seems like Westeros doesn’t have much room for Jon. Besides, he’s got his hands pretty full for a while anyway at Hogwarts.
