Larry King is reportedly close to bolstering his late-career transformation into full-time comedian with a regular contributing gig on The Daily Show: Sources have told both The New York Post and The Hollywood Reporter that a preliminary “single conversation” has already happened about King joining the show as an occasional contributor “like Lewis Black,” one who will presumably stop by every so often to have another faux-contentious back-and-forth with Jon Stewart. Despite the talks being in such early stages, King is apparently already telling his friends that the gig is a “done deal,” just to impress them, we guess. King’s friends sound like real snobs, frankly, and if he always has to try to impress them, he should know they’re not really his friends.
