Lee Daniels and Amy Adams may team on the Janis Joplin biopic "Jackie Jormp-Jomp" fans have long demanded
The development of a Janis Joplin biopic from Martha Marcy May Marlene director Sean Durkin—one that had secured rights to 21 of Joplin's songs, and by all appearances seemed legitimately sanctioned by the Joplin estate—riled scores of frustrated fans who wanted only to make references to the 30 Rock episode "Jackie Jormp-Jomp" then go about their day, because they have lives to live. Fortunately, those fans may soon be assuaged by the revival of Janis Joplin: Get It While You Can, a competing biopic whose title not only bears the all-important TV movie-of-the-week colon reminiscent of that show's Sing Them Blues, White Girl: The Jackie Jormp-Jomp Story, it also does not, as yet, have access to the Joplin library, creating the possibility of humorous Internet references to songs with altered lyrics such as "Chunk Of My Lung."
