Liam Gallagher will look back in anger if he feels like it

If the whole “solo career” thing doesn’t work out, Liam Gallagher could always start a new life as an insult comic. A recent interview with the British arm of GQ saw him re-naming A$AP Rocky “WhatsApp Ricky,” and, when asked if he would ever consider an appearance on Carpool Karaoke, Gallagher responded with a succinct, “James Corden is a knobhead.”
Britpop’s own Don Rickles also had something to say about the recent trend of using Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back In Anger” as a sort of healing anthem in the wake of tragedies like the terror attack on a Ariana Grande concert in Manchester and the Grenfell Tower fires in London. After closing his solo set at the Glastonbury festival with his first-ever live performance of the song—which his brother Noel sang on 1995’s (What’s The Story) Morning Glory?—he told the BBC, “That’s kind of like [everyone’s] song for the moment because of all the shit that’s going down in the world.”
