Lifetime’s next unauthorized behind-the-scenes movie will be about Beverly Hills, 90210
Despite the fact that nobody seemed to like The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story, and The Unauthorized Full House Story hasn’t even aired yet, Lifetime has already announced the subject of its next The Unauthorized Whatever Story: Beverly Hills, 90210. Finally, we’ll get the (unauthorized) story behind the beloved teen-friendly soap opera about popular rich kids who are sometimes friends with unpopular kids who are slightly less rich. Also, Luke Perry was on it for a while, and that’s really the most important part.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the movie will chronicle the show’s first four seasons, “particularly the drama between cast members and producers both on and off-set,” and it will also “shed light on the show’s several near-cancelations and its subsequent rise to ratings hit and pop culture phenomenon.” We just hope it covers David Silver’s inexplicable transition from super dweeb to radical DJ that everyone thinks is cool. He’s not cool, guys. He was never cool. Steve Sanders is cool. Everyone on that show should’ve appreciated Steve Sanders more.
Anyway, The Unauthorized Beverly Hills, 90210 Story doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but a photo of no-name actors dressed like Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, and Tori Spelling will probably be released soon. Look forward to that!
