Lithuania writes songs for its Hardcore Friends
As the drummer for Dr. Dog, Eric Slick is well versed in the grand traditions of pop music. But he’s also got a punk’s heart. Slick paired with Dom Angellela of DRGN King to make music with a bit more bite, and the result is Lithuania. On August 14 Lame-O Records will release the band’s debut full-length Hardcore Friends, a title that reflects the genesis of the band itself. The A.V. Club is premiering “Place Of No Tomorrow” below, which doesn’t fully excise Slick’s love of hooks, but it’s blown out in a way that lets him channel his more aggressive influences for a change.
Pre-orders for Hardcore Friends are available now through Lame-O Records.
