Live-action Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day in the works
The Kids Are All Right’s Lisa Cholodenko is in talks to direct a live-action adaptation of the classic children’s book Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Judith Viorst’s searing chronicle of the pain of the white middle class. The original story—a sort of My First White Whines that follows a young boy who endures the cumulative indignity of not getting dessert in his lunch or the exact kind of new sneakers he wanted—is being looked at as a potential franchise with sequels, hopefully one in which Alexander is actually sent to Australia in accordance with his wishes, shacks up with Aborigines, and learns to not be such a fucking spoiled baby.
