Love’s not dead: Elon Musk and Grimes visited a pumpkin patch over the weekend
Autumn is upon us, and with it comes the fuzzy warmth of flannel, the intoxicating tang of hot cider, and the audible pop of logs on a flaming hearth. It’s romantic enough to soften even the hardest hearts, as it seems to have done for pop culture’s weirdest couple: Billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk and indie pop star Grimes, who were spotted with Musk’s five children at a Los Angeles pumpkin patch over the weekend, Daily Mail reports.
When last we heard tell of the couple, the pair had unfollowed each other on social media, the very place where their love once blossomed. This led many to speculate that the relationship was kaput in the wake of Musk’s tussles with the SEC, who sued him after he tweeted that he was taking Tesla private for $420 a share, itself a joke apparently meant to make his weed-loving girlfriend laugh. He’s since stepped down as chairman of the company, but not before watching the company’s stock plummet after smoking weed with Joe Rogan on live TV. Oops.
The couple made their relationship public at the Met Gala in May, and the pairing has seen Grimes defend Musk’s union-busting and history of GOP donations after also deleting the words “anti-imperialist” from her Twitter bio.
Musk and Grimes’ pumpkin-picking marks their first public appearance in several months, proving that perhaps love can persevere through pervasive scandal and millions in dollars of losses, after all. A celebratory shot of Teslaquila, anyone?
