According to The Hollywood Reporter, Malin Akerman is in talks to join director Brad Peyton’s movie adaptation of the video game Rampage. Assuming the talks work out, she’ll be joining Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris, and Joe Manganiello, though none of them are apparently going to be the actual giant monsters that players controlled in the Rampage arcade game. Johnson is playing the usual Dwayne Johnson-type hero, Harris is playing a geneticist, and Manganiello is playing a military dude.
Akerman is currently appearing on Showtime’s Billions, and her Rampage character will be the movie’s villain—not counting the monsters, presumably—with the THR story describing her as “a calculating head of a tech company that is behind the monsters.” In other words, tech company executives are the real monsters, man.
