Marvel and Netflix have found their Daredevil and a new Daredevil showrunner
Sad, old Edgar Wright may have taken over the headlines this weekend when he abruptly quit the Ant-Man movie, but he’s not the only one who has just left one of Marvel’s upcoming projects. A few days ago, Marvel announced that Drew Goddard, the showrunner for its Daredevil show on Netflix, had left for the greener pastures of Sony’s Sinister Six, which he will be reportedly writing and directing. This comes via The Hollywood Reporter, who also revealed that Goddard has been replaced on Daredevil by Steven S. DeKnight, the creator and head writer of Starz’s Spartacus. Like Goddard, DeKnight is also a Joss Whedon veteran, having previously written for shows like Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Dollhouse. So if anyone is concerned that Joss Whedon might someday lose his tyrannical grip on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, let this be a sign that no, the man can never be stopped.
