Amy Poehler, Hugh Laurie, and Michael Schur unearth trailer for new comedy, Dig

The comedy reunion Parks And Recreation fans have been waiting for is coming to Peacock. Dig, the new comedy co-created by Michael Schur and his Parks And Rec star Amy Poehler, arrives next month, and the streamer has brushed off its first trailer and displayed it in the YouTube museum for future generations to enjoy. On Dig, Poehler stars as Elise, the unsung underling of a famous British archaeologist named Neville (Hugh Laurie), who, despite his dedication to science and the next generation of diggers, ultimately refuses to retire and hinders Elise’s career prospects. However, her fortunes change when she unearths a rare artifact at an excavation site in Greece, putting her and her team (Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas, and Fina Strazza) at the center of an international conspiracy.

Based on Kate Myers’ novel Excavations, Dig doesn’t isn’t the spiritual successor to Parks And Recreation one might assume from its pedigree. Well, aside from discovering its initial plot in a hole in the ground. Poehler isn’t playing the upbeat local governance fanatic who wants to find the good in her libertarian boss, but someone who feels pushed aside and underappreciated by her superiors. All 10 episodes land on Peacock just in time for Thanksgiving on November 23.
