Masters Of The Universe beefs up cast with Fisto and Sorceress

They say Castle Grayskull will forever be a safe haven for the friends of He-Man. Let’s hope that applies to Fisto and Sorceress in the upcoming Masters Of The Universe movie. Per Deadline, director Travis Knight has cast Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm/Fisto and Deadpool’s Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress. Baccarin has a vital role here. In He-Man lore, as told to the fine folks at Mattel by Orko, The Sorceress protects Castle Grayskull from the ever-encroaching forces of hammy evil led by Skeletor. She’s also the mother of Teela (Camila Mendes), the warrior goddess breaking free of Filmmation’s static cartoons to complain about Prince Adam not acting enough like He-Man. Meanwhile, Fisto is very big and strong, so they cast Olaf from Vikings: Valhalla. Jóhannesson will be calling on the power of Greyskull next weekend as Copperhead in Captain America: Brave New World.

While plot details are still under the watchful eye of Skeletor’s minions, much of the cast has already been announced. The movie stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man/Prince Adam, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba as Teela’s adoptive father, Man-At-Arms, and Jared Leto as Skeletor, in the first good Leto casting since House Of Gucci in which he plays a “triumphant of mediocrity” who doesn’t even have basic cable. We hope the movie is good enough to keep those fine Mattel products on toy store racks for generations, inspiring waves of broccoli-headed youngsters to straighten their hair into pageboy hairdos.

Masters Of The Universe has the power in theaters on June 5, 2026.
