Michael B. Jordan is "glad" Jonathan Majors is "good"

Jordan still wants to work with Majors again despite Majors' domestic violence conviction.

Michael B. Jordan is

After doing one film together, Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors envisioned a career of collaboration together akin to Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino. Apparently, Majors’ legal trouble hasn’t deterred Jordan from that course. Asked in a new interview whether he would work with Majors again, Jordan responded with a resolute, “Yes. Yes.” (Emphasis GQ‘s.)

Majors was charged in relation to a domestic violence incident. During the 2023 trial, his ex-girlfriend made various allegations of abuse, and shared with the court audio recordings of Majors’ ranting in which he demonstrated controlling behaviors and demanded his partner be like Coretta Scott King. (“I’m a great man. … The woman that supports me—that I support—needs to be a great woman and make sacrifices the way that man is making for her and for them ultimately.”) Jordan now says it was a “tough situation” to watch unfold. “But he’s doing great, just got engaged,” Jordan adds. (Majors is engaged to actor Meagan Good.) “I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy.”

When Jordan and Majors first worked together on Creed III, Majors’ star was on the rise; the year that film came out, he also enjoyed awards buzz from the festival premiere of Magazine Dreams and debuted his Marvel villain Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania. Jordan, who directed the Rocky franchise threequel, gushed to The New York Times in March 2023 that the duo were “excited about” future collaborations. But later that same month, Majors was arrested, and after being convicted he was dropped from the Marvel universe and has struggled to find substantial work since. Jordan, meanwhile, is currently promoting his next film Sinners and is in development on his next directorial effort, a reboot of The Thomas Crown Affair. Perhaps he’ll offer Majors a role in one of his own movies.
