Mid-season comes early for NBC and CBS
The calendar says "October" but it feels like January in two primetime time slots. CBS is replacing the cancelled Smith while NBC is bringing in a familiar face to fill the slot left vacant by the not-cancelled-yet-but-moved-to-Saturdays-so-what's-the-difference? Kidnapped.
So what's the best way to replace Smith, a crime drama starring a bunch of expensive actors slumming it in primetime? With 3 Lbs., a medical drama with only one expensive actor slumming it in primetime. The show stars Stanley Tucci as an eccentric brain surgeon.
As for Kidnapped, its move means that Medium–the show with the pretty lady who talks to ghosts that doesn't star Jennifer Love Hewitt–is making an early return. Please adjust your TiVos accordingly.
