Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A is facing demolition
Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A will probably be turned into condominiums in the near future. Built by Chet Atkins and brothers Owen and Harold Bradley, RCA Studio A has hosted everyone from Willie Nelson to Ben Folds, who currently leases the space— as seen below in a video from The A.V. Club’s One Track Mind series. But the building that holds the studio and some related offices has been sold to a Nashville developer who says that, unless someone else comes up with the money to buy the building out from under him by the end of the month, he’ll level it and turn the property into high-end condos and restaurants with “features that honor the legacy of RCA Studio A,” as all newly constructed condos are wont to do with the historic things they replaced.
