Netflix to have Bad Thoughts for another season

Tom Segura's "dark and twisted" sketch show has been renewed for season 2.

Netflix to have Bad Thoughts for another season

Everyone’s having bad thoughts right now, so why not capitalize on it? That seems to be Netflix’s philosophy, as the streamer just renewed Tom Segura’s sketch comedy series Bad Thoughts for season two. Escapism? Never heard of it.

“It was such a thrill to get the opportunity to entertain and horrify audiences with our very Bad Thoughts on Netflix,” Segura wrote in a statement. “We’re all so excited to push things further with season 2. I promise your family will not approve of what we do.” Segura’s own mom (or, at least, an actor playing her) didn’t either, in a short renewal announcement posted by the streamer. “You can tell if you watch for a few seconds that she’s definitely not happy with it,” Segura quips as the woman silently curses.

The comedian and podcaster is probably right that your own mom would have a similar reaction. You might too, if you haven’t seen the show already. “Think of the weirdest, darkest, grossest dream you’ve ever had—and now imagine that in sketch form,” Brian Tallerico wrote in his C+ review of the series for The A.V. Club. “Tim Robinson’s I Think You Should Leave feels like the obvious comparison, but Segura’s approach is significantly more aggressive, with the comedian pushing the envelope in terms of good taste and problematic humor.”

If that sounds up your alley, you still have to wait a bit for Netflix to announce a season two premiere date. Your mom can rest easy until then.
