Netflix to turn your local coffee shop into “Luke’s Diner” in honor of Gilmore Girls

The idea of imitators of his beloved Stars Hollow diner popping up around the country would send shivers down the spine of Gilmore Girls’ beloved sexy curmudgeon Luke Danes. However, that hasn’t stopped Netflix from executing an extensive promo for its upcoming revival of the series: This Wednesday, coffee shops around the country will turn into “Luke’s” and hand out free coffee in honor of the anniversary of the show’s premiere. According to a press release, the participating stores will be “decked out with all the Luke’s Diner essentials,” and the freebie offer will last from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. on October 5. In addition to the warm mug of caffeine juice, guests will get a “fun surprise under their custom Gilmore Girls coffee sleeve.” Could the “fun surprise” be a mother’s crippling judgement? Who knows!

The full list of locations is available at TownOfStarsHollow.org. There are two in Chicago: Osmium Coffee Bar and Elaine’s Coffee Call. There a bunch scattered around New York City as well, including all incarnations of The Bean. Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life is set to premiere November 25.
