Netflix welcomes us all to a rockin' 1985 by announcing a premiere date for Stranger Things 3
Proving that they really do know their audience, the masterminds running the PR campaign for Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things posted a little treat for all of us not out partying through the last vestiges of 2018 tonight: A premiere date for the show’s much-anticipated third season, complete with some mysterious messages, a brand new shopping mall, and a few glimpses at that beloved holiday revenant, Dick Clark.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a new Stranger Things promo without a healthy dose of cryptic nonsense to give us something to ponder our poor, hungover brains over tomorrow, too, so the “broadcast” from Hawkins Indiana’s New Years Eve is intercut with a couple of weird government interludes, including a mysterious missive about whatever happens “When blue and yellow meet in the west.” And while we’re at it, what are SilverCat feeds, and what do they have to do with Mind Flayers, et. al.?
One message is perfectly clear, though: Stranger Things is back on July 4, 2019, because Netflix is apparently bound and determined to keep people indoors and watching streaming content while fireworks are going off.
