Throw some WD-40 on The 1-Ton Human Hamster Wheel and decongest that giant prop nose: Double Dare returns to Nickelodeon this summer. The cable channel announced the game show’s return today, accompanied by the following video compilation of the various dares, double dares, and physical challenges endured by its first generation of slime-flecked contestants.
Double Dare originally aired on Nickelodeon from 1986 to 1993, a run that saw the show go through syndicated, super-sloppy, and family incarnations. A press release for the new Double Dare—which follows a previous revival, Double Dare 2000—promises “appearances from blasts from the past and stars from today.” Does that mean the notorious stench of the obstacle course is due for its own second coming?
