Nicki Minaj has released her new video for “Anaconda,” a remake of Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back” told from the butt’s point of view. But the clip contains another, more surprising homage to a ’90s institution: a Mystery Science Theater 3000 cameo, ending with a guy and his robot friends glimpsed in silhouette, watching as Minaj unleashes yet more cheesy horrors on screen.
Anyway, if you want to just skip to the MST3K part (to summarize what you’ll miss: Nicki Minaj has a big butt, she puts her big butt on guys with guns and cocaine, everyone pauses for a sobering reflection on sexual and racial stereotypes, buttsbuttsbuttsbutts), it starts at 3:05. And no, no one knows why this is happening, not even Mike Nelson. Though few can deny that Nicki Minaj is really neat, Nicki Minaj is filled with meat.
