Nicki Minaj's Ice Age 4 announcement unfortunately juxtaposed with flashing her nipple on Good Morning America

Nicki Minaj has a knack for coming up with unnerving, cartoonish voices (she’s like the Maria Bamford of hip-hop, for those of you who don’t listen to hip-hop but pay attention to alternative comedy, I guess). Now she’ll put those chameleonic talents to good use by joining the increasingly large guest-star cast of Ice Age: Continental Drift, a varied group that already includes Jennifer Lopez, Wanda Sykes, Aziz Ansari, and Drake, in addition to the usual ensemble. Anyway, we probably wouldn’t bother talking about this except for the fact that Minaj’s announcement that she would be joining a popular children’s movie franchise was followed by an appearance on today’s Good Morning America where her nipple fell out of her top, predictably angering the Parents Television Council and forcing ABC to issue an apology for those “fleeting images” of nudity currently sending the East Coast into a tailspin of moral decay.

Fortunately for the network, the courts have recently muddied the waters when it comes to prosecuting fleeting nudity, so it’s unlikely that they’ll face the same sort of FCC scandal that resulted from Janet Jackson’s similar mishap at the Super Bowl. And presumably by the time Ice Age 4 rolls around, overprotective parents will have forgotten all about the Evil Nipple Lady. All we’re really pointing out is that the timing of both of these stories suggests, like most of us, the universe gets kind of bored in August.
