Now you can crush the dreams of American Idol contestants from your computer
After years of trying, American Idol producers have finally settled on a secure method for online voting, allowing viewers to log into their Facebook accounts and vote for their favorites—thus eliminating the possibility of multiple votes from one person (unless they have multiple Facebook accounts, we guess) and, presumably, enabling everyone in your news feed to know that you actually care about who wins American Idol. The new system will be put into place on March 1 alongside the more traditional phone and text message options. Still not in the offing, apparently: A system where that percentage of AI viewers who don’t really care who wins can vote for the person they most want to see eliminated, just to watch them cry.
