Although a performance of “Man Or Muppet” is still out of the question in order to make room for the Krazy Klown And Québécois Cavalcade, Oscars producer Brian Grazer has bowed ever-so-slightly to public outcry and allowed that, okay, maybe the ceremony can have some Muppets. ABC has announced that Kermit The Frog and Miss Piggy are confirmed as presenters in an unspecified category. (Probably not Best Documentary Short.) The Hollywood Reporter notes that this actually makes the fifth time that the Muppets have appeared on the show—apparently not counting Fraggle Rock’s Bruce Vilanch, because he’s technically just “behind the scenes” or whatever.
