Paramount Pictures appears to be in the business of creating headlines that’d feel out of date in 2016, let alone 2026, as Deadline reports the studio is chatting up The Housemaid director Paul Feig about directing a “follow-up” to the 2003 F. Gary Gray reboot of The Italian Job. No other details were available at the time of reporting, as the studio is currently seeking writers. But that sound you might be hearing is either the roar of an old engine firing up despite decades of neglect, someone at Paramount defensively justifying their choice to throw money at a sequel to “Mark Wahlberg drives tiny cars,” or a third thing.
