Paul Thomas Anderson-directed Cameron Winter concert film is hitting the road

Following in the footsteps of Jonathan Demme and Martin Scorsese, Paul Thomas Anderson is following his latest narrative film with a concert one. This winter, 35mm prints of the brand-new Anderson-directed documentary Cameron Winter At Carnegie Hall are hitting the road for a 20-city roadshow tour, stopping at New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, Milwaukee, Houston, Omaha, Portland, and more. The film documents Cameron Winter’s sold-out show at Carnegie Hall in December, following the months-long, sold-out, and supposedly psyop-powered first leg of Geese’s world tour. A live album of the concert will also be available on October 9.
Anderson was caught in 4K recording the concert in December (due to being on stage with a camera). Most assumed it would be for a concert film, and those assumptions didn’t make an ass of you or me for once because Janus Films and Criterion acquired the rights to the film and announced the rollout today. The music begins on November 20 with a bicoastal screening in New York and Los Angeles. More dates can be found below.
