Pearl Jam is indeed putting out a new album this year

This should stop all the speculation: Pearl Jam has announced that it will, indeed, release a new record later this year. Lightning Bolt is due out Tues., Oct. 15 and was produced by Brendan O’Brien. It’s the group’s tenth full-length, and its first since 2009’s Backspacer. Hopefully this record will be followed by a Lightning Bolt release titled Pearl Jam.

To get the yarl-friendly public riled up, the group released a teaser video and a rollicking new single, “Mind Your Manners,” both of which are below. The group also just announced a number of fall tour dates, including stops in Pittsburgh, New Orleans, and the group’s hometown of Seattle. All of those are below as well.
