Finally, someone had the good sense to let Simone Ashley lead an honest-to-goodness rom-com. We’re already celebrating Love Week here at The A.V. Club, and oh man does this writer love that choice. Ashley doesn’t just have one love interest in the film, either; she has (at least!) five, as she deserves.

The film sees Ashley’s Pia—a photographer who’s been consistently unlucky in love—set up by her friends and family in a Bachelorette-style competition. The goal? To find her a date to her sister’s wedding, and maybe get her her own ring in the process. That’s all before Pia’s ex (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) reappears to throw the whole field into confusion. Throw in a psychic prediction that Pia will find true love on one of her next five dates, and you have a setup worthy of the Bridgerton and Sex Education breakout star—not to mention one very overwhelmed protagonist.

Picture This isn’t the only project Ashley has in the hopper right now. She’s doing a bit of genre hopping as she prepares for the premiere of Brad Pitt-led racing drama F1 this upcoming summer and wraps production on a psychological thriller called This Tempting Madness. (The Ashley-led film hasn’t announced a premiere date as of this writing.) Tiffin just starred in Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and is currently working with the director once again on his Young Sherlock series for Prime Video.

Picture This—which also stars Sindhu Vee, Luke Fetherston, and Phil Dunster—premieres March 6 on Prime Video.
