Jordan Peele and Sam Raimi team up to terrorize Chase Infiniti

Two masters of horror will team up to paint director Dylan Clark’s Portrait Of God, starring One Battle After Another breakout Chase Infiniti, per The Hollywood Reporter. Portrait marks the first collaboration between Sam Raimi and Jordan Peele, whose respective production companies, Ghost House Pictures and Monkeypaw, will produce the film—though expectations may be tempered given both directors’ track records as producers. Both Ghost House and Monkeypaw have produced a fair share of misses, even with a strong filmmaker at the helm. The film also heralds Infiniti’s return to the big screen following her turn in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Best Picture winner.

Portrait Of God will be directed by Dylan Clark, who falls into the category of YouTuber-turned-Hollywood hotshot à la Kane Parsons and Curry Barker. Clark co-wrote the feature with Joe Russo. No, not that Joe Russo. This Joe Russo produced Apple TV’s The Greatest Beer Run Ever, Peter Farrelly’s Green Book follow-up. God is the second feature Clark has in the works, and the first based on one of his original ideas. He also has a reboot of ‌The Blair Witch Project on the horizon.

God will expand upon a seven-minute short film with the same title, which Clark wrote, edited, and directed. The short still lives on YouTube, where it has collected more than 10 million views since its August 2022 upload. The film’s plot remains under wraps, but the short follows a young woman as she rehearses a presentation about a haunted painting. Some who behold this cursed “Portrait of God” see a demon, which the character is desperate to see, despite the obvious dangers. Credit to Clark: the short is an effective little creeper.
