Promotion for Nymphomaniac begins with this photo taken of the inside of Lars Von Trier's mind

In order to build anticipation for Lars Von Trier’s new Nymphomaniac—a film whose un-simulated sex scenes will surely make traditional means of promotion difficult, even if the promise of them has already done plenty to get your attention—the movie’s UK distributor Artificial Eye has instead released the above photo of the inside of Lars Von Trier’s mind. In it, Charlotte Gainsbourg lies savagely beaten and near death in a dank alleyway, just waiting to be picked up by Stellan Skarsgard so she can begin recounting all of her sex-related miseries in lengthy, brutal detail. “It’s from when I close my eyes and go to my happy place,” Von Trier would probably say, were he speaking to anyone.  [via The Playlist]
