Razzie Nominations remind us that 2010 also produced The Last Airbender and Sex And The City 2
Adding its usual acerbic aside to the end-of-year laurels, the Razzie Awards announced their annual nominations today, reminding us that 2010 not only produced The Social Network and Black Swan, but also two Jennifer Aniston films that made good on her 1997 nomination for Worst New Star (alongside the rest of the cast of Friends). As with the best pictures of the year, the list of the most heinous contains few surprises, with final digs at M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender and Sex And The City 2—both of which came up for Worst Picture and had their entire casts nominated for Worst Screen Ensemble—but other usual suspects such as Marmaduke, Yogi Bear, and Katherine Heigl apparently got away with their various crimes against cinema, all so the Razzies could take another opportunity to rage against Twilight and all things connected to Twilight—a hatred that even extended to Twilight parodies like Vampires Suck. (Also, calling out Rob Schneider’s Grown Ups performance seems like blaming a single pigeon for a shit-stained sidewalk, but whatever.) Here’s the full list of nominations, including a brand-new category recognizing the innovations afforded by 3-D and all it’s done to help ruin movies.
