Rob Zombie's Devil’s Rejects sequel is done filming and apparently "chockablock with gratuitous violence"
It was the bloodthirsty, Leatherfacian Firefly family of 2003’s House of 1000 Corpses that introduced us to the filmmaking of Rob Zombie, but it was its sequel, 2005's The Devil’s Rejects, that had us thinking he may actually be good at it. Since then, he’s had some highs (The Lords Of Salem), some lows (Halloween), and some straight-up disasters (31), and now the filmmaker is returning to the well from which he first chugged.
We first reported on 3 From Hell, the third Firely flick in what Zombie is calling a trilogy, in late 2017, and rumors swirled about its production last March. Well, this past Monday, Zombie took to Instagram to announce that film was completed. “It took awhile to complete the trilogy but we did it,” he wrote alongside photos of him directing each film. “Top pic is shooting House of 1000 Corpses in 2001 – shooting The Devil’s Rejects in 2004 and finally shooting 3 From Hell in 2018. Quite a Fucking journey to say the least.”
