Rolling Stone clarifies that Justin Bieber doesn't think rape happens for a reason

Yesterday a quote from Justin Bieber’s Rolling Stone interview threatened to derail the world’s love affair with the child who shall lead them, when it was shockingly revealed that the adamantly Christian singer who believes that his success is part of God’s plan might not be cool with abortion. Although he seemed slightly unsure about the definition—“It’s like killing a baby?” he asked—Bieber avowed that he would always say never to it, even in cases of rape, which naturally caused some controversy.

However, Rolling Stone has now come forward to say that, due to an “editing error,” the quote was incomplete, omitting a sentence that could serve to abate the outcry somewhat. Here is Bieber’s full statement on whether abortion is justified in cases of rape, with the revised section in bold: “Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don't know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that.” Note that it doesn’t exactly change his feelings on the matter—abortion is still definitely not swag—but it does lessen the idea that Bieber thinks rape happens for a reason, which is a pretty big omission on Rolling Stone's part, don't you think? However, note also that Bieber still thinks Americans are evil, so you can still be outraged about that if you want.
